Mom Thankful for Son with Autism

by Pat on Jan 18, 2009 at 9:15 PM Filed in Autism Family Facts | Christian Autism Stories | Parenting Autistic Children | Stories from Readers
I am the mother of two kids--one a girl 21 y/o and a boy born in 1997 with a cleft palet.  If that was not enough he was diagnosed in 1999 with autism. I would not trade him for anything. If not enough, I also have three grandkids. Thanks for your help bringing this to everyone.  Maria P.

God Bless you. I have two autistic grandsons. One is doing quite well. His brother on the other hand is more difficult. I watch them 4 days a week so mom and dad can work. They are a Blessing to me and but for the Grace of God I know I could not do it. Once you have an autistic child in your family you will look at other children with behavioral problems in a totally different way. It is not fair to call a child a "brat" or what ever other "term" some people label them. No on knows what problem that child is encountering with his neurological system and brain. I pray there may be a "cure" one day for these "beautiful, and loving" children.
