Hello. I was wondering what the odds are of an autistic child having seizures or motor tics? From research, I realize that many diagnoses go hand-in-hand (so to speak) with autism. For example, many autistic children have ADHD, OCD, anxiety disorders, etc. as well. However, I am curious about how many autistic children have motor tics and/or seizures. If you have any information on this topic, I would greatly appreciate reading it. I would also be curious to know how many of the children with both autism and seizure/motor tics suspected a vaccine injury.
In case you have not figured out by now, I am the mother of an autistic son. Actually, I have 5 children total. Three of the five children are on the spectrum. My 13 year old son is autistic. My 7 year old daughter and 5 year old son are both diagnosed with PDD-NOS. Therefore, I do understand the battles faced by all parents living with an autistic child.
With that said, I would like to add that it amazes me to hear families with autistic children speak. The one thing I continue to hear and say myself is "we are all truly blessed to have our children". I honestly believe that God gives special children to special people. Granted, we all go through feeling worn down. We all go through feeling as though we could be better parents. Yet, the reality is that God does truly give special children to special people. I cannot tell you how many times that I have heard, "if that were my child I would do this or that" or "it is a good thing that my children did not have autism". For those parents, I look them in the eyes and say "you are right....it is probably best that you did not have a special child like mine". All of my children are special. Therefore, we should always remember that God does give special children to special people!
