Hi Pat, Our grandbaby has autism and it took us 3 1/2 years to know what we was dealing with. The doctors just don't get it when you tell them something is wrong and Madison would have meltdowns and throw things at her mom and just not respond when you would talk to her. i
I quit my job a year and a half ago to stay with her while her mom worked because I was so afraid someone would be mean to her and think she just wasn't listening to them. Now I keep all three of my grandbabies while their parents work. Madison's mom is a single mom and has a little boy that is 3. Madison will be 5 in Feb. 2009 and it is a lot for her mom. The insurance doesn't cover anything with her and that is sad because now we are hoping she can get SSI just to help her with the stuff Madison needs.
So thank you for your story and thanks for listening to Madison's story. We will be praying for all the wonderful kids who fight this awful thing named Autism
