My name is Sandra. I have 3 boys and all are on the autism spectrum. Trenton, 13 is moderately autistic, ADHD, and verbally challenged and he has seizure disorder. Samuel, 13 is PDD-NOS and ADHD.  He is verbal but has problems with language and he also has a lot of other health issues. Xavier, 9, is severely autistic, non-verbal and has ADHD. It has not been an easy road for us financially or otherwise trying to raise 3 boys with autism.  It is a difficult task. We cannot afford all the gf/cf diet that is supposed to help. We get medicaid, but there are other treatments out there that medicaid doesn't cover.  Schools can't always provide all the therapy that the boys require.

It took awhile before Samuel was diagnosed as being on the spectrum because everytime I would talk to the doctors about it, they would just look at me like I was a parent that wanted to have Samuel diagnosed with autism, which was not the case. I could just see signs of from reading up on it and having my other two boys diagnosed with autism. I finally got to a good clinic and found a wonderful doctor and a wonderful therapist, who actually listen to me, which is rare. I am very thankful I found them.  There is still a lot of work ahead and the worry about what is going to happen in the future financially and otherwise.
