Pat to Appear on the Nancy Grace Show To Discuss Autism

by Pat on Dec 12, 2008 at 6:42 PM Filed in Autism Family Facts | Parenting Autistic Children

On Thursday, December 18, 2008, I will be appearing live on The Nancy Grace Show on CNN.  It airs live at 8 eastern/7 central. I am scheduled to be on the second half of the show at approximately 8:30/7:30 central time I am going to be talking about legal issues surrounding autism--such as insurance companies not paying for treatment and therapies that autistic children need. As you know, this causes an extreme financial burden on families.

Please share your stories with me about your frustrations, the financial burden your family has had to bear, the length of time you've had to wait for treatment, or the reasons why your requests for insurance payments have been denied.

I invite you to share your stories.  Remember you are not alone.  There are thousands of families just like you.

I want to hear from you.  Let's let America hear from us.

Please post your stories by either clicking on the link on the right side of the home page (submit stories) or by posting a comment to this blog entry.

I just watched the Nancy Grace show on youtube, (missed th earlier episode) but I was in tears. Thank you Pat for bringing this subject up on a national news show, its about time we get more coverage!!!I too have a child with high functioning Autism. My five year old darling boy has PDD. I not only cried for him, but cried for so many of the little children out there that suffer with this disorder. I too, am a christian and I pray every day that we find a cure for this disorder. Its really a growing epidemic since there are 1/150 children diagnosed with this, I find those statistics really unbelievable. I am a firm believer that the fever and seizure (from the immunizations) that my son got caused his problems. His eye contact with me was perfect before the shots, but that is another story. I wish they would stop sticking our children with viruses and carcinogens and Im sure wed see a drop in the number of autistic children, one has to wonder why countries where they do not immunize as much have a much lower rate of autism. But for our poor dears that already have Autism, we must now find a cure, I pray everyday that the day will come when these children have voices again!!!
